Counseling for OCD and Anxiety Disorders - There is hope

Carol Lundemo has a MA in Counseling/Psychology from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. She is a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor.       LH 60459685

Over the past five years, she has counseled and provided therapy for clients from ages 7 to 86.

She specializes in depression, post partum depression, adjustment disorders, relationship issues, and anxiety disorders, with a particular emphasis on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

OCD affects one in forty people, and requires a specialized form of therapy to be effective in reducing symptoms. Carol is trained as an OCD treatment provider. Carol practices from a Cognitive-Behavioral approach, meaning that she will work with clients to develop new thought patterns. She provides Exposure Response Prevention homework exercises in order to equip OCD sufferers with the tools necessary to gain back their lives. Carol is a member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation.

Carol volunteers as a facilitator for the Seattle OCD support group, the Seattle teenage OCD support group, and also leads an OCD support group at her church. She was a counselor at The Samaritan Center of Puget Sound for a year and a half. She is a former volunteer facilitator for the North Seattle Depression After Delivery support group.

She also has a heart for people whose loved one suffers from dementia or Alzheimer's disease. From personal experience, she recognizes the confusion, depression, heartache, and feelings of helplessness that often result from watching someone with this condition deteriorate.

Carol considers it an honor to walk beside someone and provide support when life gets overwhelming. She allows the client to progress at his or her own pace, while providing support, compassion, suggestions, and a listening ear all in a safe and private environment.

She believes that everyone is entitled to live a meaningful life and one that is freer from fear.

Her personal struggles and the ways she overcame them, gives her great empathy in walking with you on your road to recovery.

Carol has worked together with area doctors to refer for medical treatment when necessary. 

Carol is a Christian who believes that each person is uniquely created by God, and is delighted to integrate spiritual help if requested by a client. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
